Protec Surface Technologies participated in the two days SVC TechCon Exhibition in Orlando, Florida, on the 8th and the 9th of May.
At its booth n. 233, Protec S.T. presented the new Powerflex CR 1500, a high performances machine using PVD technologies, useful for high productivity with large size objects (for example faucets and bathroom accessories) in decorative PVD applications.
Another innovation presented is Protec new DLC, an innovative coating family with high Carbon sp3 bonds (diamond like carbon) based on a new PVD-PECVD hardware and special precursor that can be offered in many different solutions depending on the application.
Protec Surface Technologies exhibited at Surtech 2018 (Surface Finishing Exhibition) in Tokyo from the 14th to the 16th of February with the aim of presenting its last developments.
Especially ABACO, the new PVD coating technology, generated a lot of interest among the visitors because of its innovative characteristic: its everlasting antibacterial properties are fundamental to inhibit the proliferation of pathogens which can cause infections.

On the occasion of a Workshop within the project ICAP “Innovazione tramite applicazioni combinate delle tecnologie al plasma“, Protec Surface Technologies will present a speech on the latest PVD technologies entitled ” The perfect combination for high durability eye frames: base material combined with deformation technology and vacuum coatings”.

Initiative under “Axis I – Strengthening of Research, Development and Innovation – Objective 1b.1 – Actions 1b.1.2”
Description: The purpose of the project is to apply PVD technology on large quantities of small metallic accessories used in fashion industry, moving forward from what “state of art” is in this moment in equipment field and developing new solutions.
The project aims to provide a eco-friendly solution and to overcome the limits of the currently used galvanic treatments:
- low uniformity of thickness and color;
- poor mechanical and chemical-physical resistances;
- damage of parts to be coated due to rubbing and rolling inside barrels used for galvanic treatment.
